Homemade applesauce

Yesterday we felt like peeling apples! Our backyard harvest was waiting for us in the cellar. The children already took a bucket full to make applesauce at school. Still enough left for us!
Most of those fresh green apples would end up in a yammie applesauce too  The rest in our mouths...

And for all those birds we love for their cheerfull singing we left some apples in the trees. (And for some tiny little worms who seem to like apples too.)
A large pan full of applepieces to start with.
We just added some cinnamonsticks, sugar (everyone a couple of spones, not to much) and a hint of salt.

Mmmmmmmmmmm delicious!

Getting colder

As long the sun is shining everything outside is so beautiful. Sun thrue colorful leaves in the trees, partly blue sky even the birds are still singing. But when the sun is gone... I feel it's getting colder, brrr and getting up in the morning in the dark. I always have to get used to that and find it hard sometimes.
But in the weekends a late and lazy breakfast when the sun is shining.... Wonderful!

Still, the fall is a beautiful season with a lot of temperament and nature preparing for winter, protecting small animals and seeds with all those leaves and time to go inside. Inside the house, inside yourself.
In front of the fireplace... With a book, unless you can't wait till you're inside :-)

Herfstbos

It was beautiful this weekend, sunny weather, blue sky. We collected bags full of chestnuts and made fun with all those leaves.

Our oldest  (on the left with strawberry cap)
made some beautiful pictures (below)

She's got the eye of an artist. She walks around with this camera between her eyes and the world around her and she just takes pictures because she likes what she sees. And that's what we see when we look at her pictures. She lives in a beautiful world. And we are happy for that!
